Map-Based Distribution
Send to the right agencies and search the right area — using a map, not a list.
What it is
APBnet™ lets Creators define a distribution area on a map — search and center, zoom in and out — and the system identifies which agencies fall within the selected area. The same map interface powers bulletin search, so users can find bulletins relevant to a specific geographic area without manually listing cities or counties of interest.
Why it matters
Crimes often span jurisdictional lines. Suspects are on the move, a missing person case crosses county borders, or a pattern of crime spans multiple agencies — map-based send and search gives users the full picture.
Who uses it
Creators using distribution selection, and any user searching for bulletins within a specific area. Particularly valuable for investigators tracking cross-jurisdiction patterns and task forces coordinating multi-agency responses.
How it works
When creating a bulletin, open the map and adjust the window to select your distribution area. When searching, use the map filter to set a geographic boundary. Results show only bulletins from agencies within that area.
